Where did you first hear about Orbit?
I’ve grown up in Stratford so I’ve always been aware of Orbit. With regards to work though, I heard about it on indeed jobs and went from there.
What is it about Orbit that made you want to apply for the role? What makes Orbit unique? What did you enjoyed the most whilst working at Orbit?
I studied Human Geography, with a particular focus on social issues and hence, this is an area that was of interest to me. I’ve always viewed housing as a good industry and there was a job going in my home-town.
Orbit is unique as it fills the middle ground between a private and public company which provides opportunities, not found elsewhere. Whilst working for Orbit, you feel like you are doing good and providing an essential service. Not many jobs can give you that feeling. Although challenging at times, it feels good to provide this service.
The thing I’ve enjoyed the most about working for Orbit are the colleagues I’ve had the pleasure of working with. My colleagues are extremely supportive, and many have become close friends. I’ve also enjoyed a front line role where I’m in constant communication with our customers. They provide interesting and unique situations which can be very rewarding and challenging at the same time.
Where are you now after the scheme?
Settled into my role as a Property Manager in the Stratford district
What have you achieved personally or professionally including qualifications gained?

- Aspiring Managers
Where do you see your longer-term career?
Hard to say at such an early stage, but it’s certainly within housing and I can’t see it being anywhere other than Orbit for the foreseeable future.
Why do you like working at Orbit?
The work is rewarding and the ethos throughout the company is genuinely good. In addition to this, Orbit have been very supportive of me and provided opportunities I would have been hard pushed to get elsewhere.
Any recommendations for any future Apprentice/Graduate coming into business?
Talk to as many people as possible. It will stand you in good stead.
