Preparing your CV

First impressions are very important so always double check your CV before applying for a role. Here are some hints and tips to help you stand out:

Up to date information is essential

Include contact information ensuring your mobile number and email are correct, turn your voicemail function on in case we miss you if we call.

Spelling and grammar

Does your CV read well? Typos and mistakes are easily rectified so always proofread your CV before submitting it! Try and avoid jargon too.

Keep it uncluttered

Consider whether your CV is clear and simple to read. Make sure it’s no longer than 2 pages, include sub-headings and section breaks and always use a good sized and clear font.

Highlight your achievements

This is your time to shine. What have you succeeded at in your role and out of work, what makes you stand out from the rest?

Tailor your CV

Consider why you’re applying for the role and why you’re a good fit. Emphasise your relevant skills and experience, so your information is tailored to the specific job application.
