We see our graduates as leaders of the future so we invest a lot in this two-year programme... and in you.

Rotations. Whatever team you join, you’ll rotate through a series of placements, which vary in length, often spending a rotation in a relevant team outside your division too.

Variety and influence. As well as getting lots of responsibility in your day-to-day role, we’ll help you explore the whole of Orbit, from visiting building sites, and Independent Living Schemes, to meeting our Executive team and even going to a board meeting. When it comes to qualifications, these can vary depending on where you’re placed, but from becoming a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, to gaining your Masters, you’ll get qualified as you gain experience.

A big strategic project. Wherever you join us, from IT to Property Management, you’ll join all the other Graduates to tackle a big strategic project together. This year, our Graduates have been researching how we can cut fuel poverty and carbon emissions in one stroke, with new sustainable energy solutions that deliver warm housing for all. Working with teams across Orbit, they’ve been analysing costs, appointing suppliers and running pilots, so that they can give their final recommendations to the Board.

We will fund a qualification for you during your time on our Graduate Programme which will be linked to the role you are undertaking. 

On successful completion you'll have two years industry experience with the opportunity to move into a permanent role on a competitive salary. 
Competitive salary starting at £26,000 per annum rising to £27,000 in year 2 of our programme.
You will not only have a Line Manager but also a mentor, buddy and qualified coach.
Lunchtime Learning Sessions
These sessions are hosted by Senior leaders within the business and take place every 2 months over lunch. They provide fantastic insight into other areas of the business to help round out your skills and knowledge.

Virtual Recruitment Process

In light of COVID-19, we have adjusted the way in which we recruit to our programmes. Our process for the foreseeable future during the pandemic will be:

  • First Stage: If you’re shortlisted for the Graduate Programme we’ll contact you to undertake a short pre-telephone screening interview.
  • Second Stage: If you’re successful from the pre-telephone screening interview we’ll invite you to undertake an online assessment(s).
  • Third Stage: If you’re successful further to the results of the online assessment, we will invite you to a virtual interview which will be via Microsoft Teams.

Applications for our Graduate Programme open in February, assessments are in March/April and you’ll start in September.
