Your role at Orbit.

Orbit are looking to recruit an experienced Conveyancer/Solicitor into this newly created position where you will provide support to the business, predominately the Governance and Homeownership Teams in the operation and continuous improvement of the Group’s legal services functions. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention for detail and be a strong communicator across all levels.

In this role of Conveyancer/Solicitor you will be working with the Group Company Secretary and Deputy Company Secretary to deliver a quality in house conveyancing service.

Your key duties will be to:

  • Work with the Homeownership Team to process the following transactions from start to finish : -
  • Shared ownership Leases. Including staircase tranches and 100% purchase
  • Lease Extensions
  • Assignment of Leases
  • Right to Buy and Right to Acquire transactions
  • Redemption of Equity Loans
  • Licences
  • Provide guidance/training to the Homeownership Team on routine matters
  • Assist the Homeownership Team with solicitor enquiries
  • Assist the Homeownership Team with Leaseholder enquiries
  • Assist the Homeownership Team with service charge queries
  • Assist the Governance team with title and other property queries with the Land Registry
  • Assist with the overall monitoring of the Legal Services Panel

What will help you make a difference.

In this role of Conveyancer/Solicitor is essential that you:

  • Are either a qualified residential fully qualified Licenced Conveyancer or fully qualified Legal Executive or property solicitor
  • Are at least 3 years post qualification
  • Are familiar with the types of transactions detailed above
  • Have experience of coaching others
  • Have good written and verbal skills
  • Have an active interest in setting high standards of customer service
  • Have the ability to manage own caseload   
  • Work with others to actively improve the customer experience
  • Aim for continuous improvement across services
