A fruitful partnership

As part of our wellbeing agenda, employees across the business have been enjoying Free Fruit Wednesdays for almost three years. From berries to bananas, we’ve been chomping down on free citrus every month thanks to Fruitful Office.

As part of our wellbeing agenda, employees across the business have been enjoying Free Fruit Wednesdays for almost three years. From berries to bananas, we’ve been chomping down on free citrus every month thanks to Fruitful Office.

We’ve spent around £12,000 on providing free fruit across our offices since 2015.

But did you know…

  • Fruitful Office is the UK’s first office fruit delivery company providing fruit to over 2,500 workplaces across the country each week for the last 10 years

  • For every fruit basket we have, one fruit tree is planted in Malawi, Africa. This helps support local communities and limit the effects of global warming and deforestation. In the last three years, 750 trees have been planted thanks to our donation

  • Around 60% of the fruit provided is sourced from the UK and western Europe, supporting local farmers and sustainability

  • 99% of every fruit basket is biodegradable or recyclable

Emma Horne, our people development and events coordinator, said: “Orbit is committed to improving the wellbeing of our diverse workforce and we have a whole programme of activities and benefits available all year round. From healthy eating and gym membership to cycle to work schemes and mental health awareness support."
