A site manager from Orbit Homes has received a top award by the National House Building Council (NHBC).
Peter Snowball, Senior Project Manager at Orbit’s Hedgerows 230-home development in Hellingly Green, near Hailsham, has been presented with the NHBC’s Pride in the Job Quality Award 2020.
The NHBC, which is the UK’s leading new home warranty and insurance provider, first developed these awards 40 years ago to recognise site managers who achieve the very highest standards in house building.
Judging for the Awards is rigorous, the current competition began in July 2019, with each site manager assessed across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise, and health and safety. Being selected as one of the UK’s top site managers is a testament to their commitment to delivering quality homes for their customers.
Peter said: “This is a great accolade and reinforces Orbit Homes’ high standards throughout the house building process. The Hedgerows is a fantastic development and with only six homes still available in the first phase, house buyers can see its appeal too.
“This really has been an on-site team effort and I would like to thank everyone who works at The Hedgerows for the part they have played in this award too.”
The Hedgerows is a development of two, three, and four-bedroom houses available for sale in Hellingly Green, Hailsham. Set in a truly rural corner of beautiful East Sussex, The Hedgerows is perfectly positioned in the idyllic English countryside and is close to both the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the South Downs National Park. The Hedgerows also offers two and three bedroom homes available on a shared ownership basis which are ideal for first-time buyers.
Over four decades, Pride in the Job has been at the heart of NHBC’s core purpose to support the delivery of high-quality homes. By recognising the very best site managers across the UK, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence, the competition celebrates the vital role that site managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on time, on safe sites and to exacting construction quality standards.
Commenting on the Awards, NHBC Chief Executive, Steve Wood, said: “Pride in the Job has been pivotal in improving the quality of new homes so it’s fantastic to be able to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Despite the numerous challenges the industry has faced in recent times, the very best site managers of 2020 have kept their focus on delivering high quality new homes for their customers. At NHBC we are very proud of Pride in the Job, what it stands for and the impact it has had and continues to have across the sector.”
