New board appointments at Orbit Group

Orbit Group is delighted to welcome two new Non-Executive Directors to its Board, with Stephen Smith and Massy Larizadeh bringing extensive experience from the financial and construction sectors.

Chair of Orbit Group, Baroness Tessa Blackstone, said: “We are delighted to welcome Stephen and Massy to our Board. They are both passionate about the role Orbit plays in working to tackle the housing crisis and provide good quality, warm, safe homes where people are proud to live.  

“They bring with them extensive knowledge and experience which will help us as we respond to the needs of our customers and grow the business within a challenging and evolving environment. I very much look forward to working with them as we continue to lead in building thriving communities through our new Orbit 2025 Corporate Strategy.”

With a 25-year track record of operating at Board level for major UK and international public, private and charitable organisations, Stephen Smith’s career spans numerous Partner and leadership roles within KPMG and latterly five years as a member of the National Audit Office’s Board and as Executive Director with joint responsibility for Financial Audit. Stephen will Chair Orbit’s Audit and Risk Assurance Committee.

Massy Larizadeh also brings extensive experience with over 30 years within the financial services sector, 17 of which were within commercial real estate, working for companies such as GE Real Estate, Cushman & Wakefield Investors, and Deloitte. Massy is also a non-executive director of London & Partners, the international trade, investment and promotion agency for London, and a Trustee of One Trust Charity, which provides services to adults with multiple and acute learning difficulties. Massy will also have a seat on the Orbit Treasury Board.
