Orbit has scooped two gold health and safety awards from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for the third consecutive year.
The outstanding accolades endorse Orbit’s ongoing commitment to customer safety and best practice in compliance to deliver customers with a quality service. The news comes following Orbit Homes’ announcement earlier this year that it has adopted the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Safer by design framework for all future new-build homes.
Afzal Ismail, Group Corporate Services Director at Orbit, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the organisation, with the awards reaffirming the hard work and effort that our Health and Safety and Compliance teams consistently deliver. To get two gold awards from RoSPA for the third-year running is an amazing achievement within the housing association sector and one in which we’re extremely proud of.”
The awards include:
- Orbit - Customer Safety: RoSPA Gold Award for health and safety practices
- Orbit - Health & Safety: RoSPA Gold Award for health and safety practices
The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are one of the most prestigious and recognised schemes in the world, with almost 2000 entries every year and a reach of over 7 million employees. Established in 1956, The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards offer organisations a prime opportunity to benchmark safety performance year on year and ensure consistent performance between sites. They also provide an effective route to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to raising health and safety standards.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said: “The RoSPA Awards have become the key fixture in the health and safety calendar. Highly respected, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, RoSPA award winners benefit from the wide-ranging rewards of improved sector reputation. For Orbit to achieve these awards for a third year running really is testament to the excellent work their Health and Safety and Compliance teams deliver.”
