Orbit has entered into a new partnership with Family Fund Business Services to provide its support grants to Orbit customers in need.
The grant fund scheme offers customers facing financial hardship access to funding for essential items such as food, energy bills, clothing, school uniform, white goods, beds and carpets. The scheme also helps tackle barriers to employment by offering grants to support with issues such as digital inclusion and the costs of travelling to work.
Family Fund Business Services is an award-winning social enterprise with 100% of its profits gifted to its parent charity, Family Fund-directly supporting and sustaining the essential grants and services the charity provides to families on a low income raising disabled and seriously ill children.
Last year, Orbit provided over 3,100 grants to customers via its Better Days programme which also offers customers free expert advice and practical information across a wide-range of support services from mental health, financial or debt advice, to employment and digital skills.
Helen Gleadell, Better Days Manager for Orbit said: “Like Family Fund Business Services, Orbit is a not-for-profit organisation committed to making a positive difference to our customers and the wider community. By working with Family Fund Business Services, we can not only support our customers through times of hardship and hopefully equip them with the tools and support to make lasting positive changes, but also know that we’re supporting a charity that is providing essential help to even more families across the country.”
Mary Alcock, Head of Client Relationships for Family Fund Business Services, added: “We’re thrilled to be working with Orbit to help provide support for their customers in times of need. As a fulfilment and grant administration service we work with organisations to distribute thousands of essential items, ranging from white goods to furniture and a range of vouchers, to help their beneficiaries. As a social enterprise and wholly owned subsidiary of Family Fund, every penny of our profit is gifted to our parent charity to help support families on a low income who are raising disabled or seriously ill children.”
