Colleagues from not-for-profit housing group Orbit have raised over £1,500 for Crisis in support of the homelessness charity’s ‘Together for Homes’ fundraising campaign.
Together for Homes brings together organisations and colleagues across the housing sector in aid of Crisis. The campaign’s in its second year, with a target of raising £100,000.
The campaign’s highlight fundraising event is a 5km run in Battersea Park and 10 Orbit colleagues lined up to show their support and help raise vital funds for Crisis.
Money raised from Together for Homes directly aids Crisis’ year-round support services for people experiencing homelessness, helping those in need with emergency support to long-term housing, education, employment programmes and health and wellbeing.
Joe Brownless, Chief Customer Officer at Orbit and one of the runners, said: “Together for Homes is much more than just a run to us. Every day our colleagues work to help make sure people have a safe, secure and affordable place to call home, but we recognise that far too many people are still facing homelessness today and that by coming together we can do more to help end this.
“Our sector is built on helping people and strengthening communities, and this is a great way for us to work together to make a real difference. I’m incredibly grateful to our colleagues, both those who lined up on race day and everyone who has supported us throughout with donations for such an important cause.”
