Celebrating excellence in partnership working, Orbit has launched a campaign to promote the great work, attention to detail and customer service provided by its contractors.

As well as recognising the achievements of staff who live their values, Orbit’s Midlands Affordable Construction team want to highlight examples of where its contractors and partners have also gone above and beyond.

Delighted with the build quality, partnership working and aftercare service at Carey Fields, in Moulton, Daventry, Chris Jones, development director at Orbit, presented a special award to John Mann, managing director at Redrow Homes (South Midlands), and Redrow site manager Darren Moore, during a small celebration held at Orbit’s Coventry office.

Chris Jones, said: “The quality of our homes is extremely important to us and our team works hard to ensure high standards are consistently met. Our customer service is currently achieving 90% satisfaction - a result made possible because of schemes like Carey Fields and our partners like Redrow who go above and beyond to meet the needs of our customers.”

Kwamina Woode, contracts manager at Orbit, said: “Darren goes beyond the call of duty to facilitate an excellent aftercare service, demonstrating an understanding of Orbit’s priorities. Redrow has been an excellent partner in our delivery of affordable homes in Moulton.”

Carey Fields is a beautifully designed traditional development featuring 40 two and three bedroomed homes that are available for rent or purchase through shared ownership, in addition to Redrow’s 103 private sale family homes.

The scheme has received outstanding feedback from both staff and customers. One customer who recently moved into a property at Carey Fields, said: “I am overwhelmingly grateful to Orbit for letting me live here, the property is beautifully finished and the quality of the build is great. I am very happy.”

Darren Moore has been the site manager at Carey Fields for two-and-a half years. He said: “I’ve worked for Redrow for almost 10 years and take pride in ensuring every home is built to a high standard. There are 50 to 60 people working at Carey Fields every day and this award is for all of them. It’s a real team effort – we’re all committed to delivering and maintaining quality. It was a pleasure to collect the award on behalf of the team.”

John Mann added: “We’re very proud that Darren and the team at Carey Fields have been recognised by Orbit and their customers for the hard work they have invested in building the Carey Fields homes. Affordable housing accounts for around a quarter of our South Midlands business and it’s great to have such positive feedback. Congratulations to everyone involved.”

Orbit is the UK’s second largest developing housing association, completing 1,788 homes for rent and sale in 2016-17.
