Celebrating 50 years as an organisation, the 40,000-home housing association was nominated for Better Days. The initiative encompasses a full support and advice offer to its customers centred around employment opportunities, digital support, financial advice and wellbeing matters.
The programme is now a key mechanism in helping to achieve the organisation’s 2020 target of investing £30m into its communities.
Sophie FitzHugh, interim head of community investment at Orbit, said:
“There are over 1,700 social landlords in the UK so to make the top 50 is a huge accolade. Our customer first culture underpins every part of our business and our Better Days initiative demonstrates how Orbit is championing customer engagement and is far more than just a landlord.”
Since 2013, Orbit has helped more than 5,600 people with training and into work and invested almost £11m into its communities. Better Days was recently shortlisted in the Housing Excellence awards for Best Tenant Support/Advice Programme.
