We are delighted to announce Orbit has been shortlisted for two Housing Excellence awards celebrating its vast community investment programme and customer service.

Orbit features in two categories of the Housing Excellence Awards 2017 shortlists, including Best Tenant Support/Advice Programme and Customer Service Award.

Nominated for Best Tenant Support/Advice programme, Orbit’s Better Days initiative encompasses the organisation’s full support and advice offer to customers centred around employment opportunities, digital support, financial advice and wellbeing matters. The £11m that Orbit has invested into its communities has already helped more than 5,600 people with training and into work.

Better Days is a new approach to engaging with customers and is now a key mechanism in helping to achieve the organisation’s 2020 target of investing £30m into its communities, supporting Orbit’s 100,000 customers.

Making the shortlist for Customer Service, is Orbit’s Help to Buy Midlands team. As the UK’s largest agent delivering the government backed Help to Buy programme, the team has helped more than 32,000 people into home ownership in the last two years. The team also celebrates a customer satisfaction rating of 90%.

Paul Richards, executive director of customer services at Orbit, said: “Our customer first culture underpins every part of our business and we’re delighted to be recognised for both customer engagement and customer service in these awards. Being shortlisted in these categories demonstrates that Orbit is far more than a just landlord, providing thousands of quality, affordable homes and a range of advice and support services to over 100,000 people across the country.”

Recognised as the ‘industry event of the year’, the winners of the Housing Excellence awards will be announced at a prestigious ceremony on Thursday 25 May at the Principal Hotel, Manchester.
