We are delighted to announce our Community Investment team has been shortlisted for ‘Excellence In Community Action Award’ for the Service Six project in Pineham, Northampton.

Orbit partnered with Service Six to fund its Streetwise project delivering two hour sessions every Wednesday to children and young people aged between 7-15 years old on the Pineham estate in Northampton. The aim of these sessions was to reduce Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), low level youth crime and providing meaningful and positive activities to increase the wellbeing of the participants.

The Community Investment team were shortlisted following outstanding results with the project engaging an average of 16 customers a week exceeding the target of engaging 25 customers in total. On completion of the project 49 young people have sustained meaningful engagement in positive activities from a base of none.

During the initial twelve weeks of the project, calls to Orbit were more than halved, ASB eradicated and customer satisfaction increased.

The winners of the Tpas Central Region Awards 2018 will be announced at an awards ceremony on Friday 20 April at The St Johns Hotel, Solihull.
