We’ve been named the 7th largest housebuilder in the UK’s social housing sector, completing 1,266 homes in 2018-19 and retaining our top ten position for another year running!
The results were revealed in a national survey by trade magazine, Inside Housing, last week.
In numbers, Orbit is:
- 4th housing provider building the most homes for social rent (189 homes)
- 6th housing provider building the most homes for market sale (190 homes)
- 7th largest housing provider based on total completions (1,266)
John Carleton said: “To once again achieve top ten status across the board in the ‘Inside Housing’ survey of UK housebuilders is a phenomenal achievement. The commitment and determination to deliver our ambitious build programme is our primary focus for the next ten years, and we hope for even higher recognition in the future.”
Of the 1,266 homes developed from 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019, 733 were built for affordable and social rent, 343 for low cost ownership, and 190 for market sale.
We continue to work with our partners to build a further 20,000 new homes over the next 10 years, contributing to the UK’s ambitious programme of housing growth.
