Hollymoor Place, Epsom

We are delighted to announce that we have scooped first place in the best small development category at the first time buyer awards with our Hollymoor Place development in Epsom, Surrey. The beautifully designed and landscaped development has breathed new life into the area and demonstrates our continued contribution to the UK's well documented need for affordable housing.

It provides Epsom with 30 new affordable homes and a convenience store, on a previously derelict site, long considered to be an eyesore and security risk to the tight-knit community of the surrounding Longmead Estate.

The design of any new development in the heart of an existing community needs to be sympathetically handled and so Hollymoor Place was created to harmonise with surrounding homes, and provide a landmark, environmentally-conscious  development, which  would help to inspire residents, serve the community  and regenerate the area.

Shina Olalekan, head of development at Orbit, who lives in Epsom himself, advised that: "The existing building was very unpopular, yet the location was perfect for something truly inspiring. Hollymoor Place has completely transformed the area."

The first time buyer awards showcase the fantastic achievements of housing developers focussed on helping aspirational buyers on to the housing ladder and something that we’re incredibly proud to be involved with.

The development is the result of Orbit working collaboratively with our partners Epsom & Ewell Borough Council and United Living, to provide much needed affordable homes in the area.

Mayor Councillor Liz Frost commented:  “State of the art design for accessible living, provides our residents with homes that will transform the way in which they live their lives.

“None of this would be possible without the strong partnership that we have established with Orbit. Their approach to giving the community a development to be proud of, and in managing what has been at times a very difficult project, has been exemplary.”
