Orbit Homes, one of largest builders of affordable housing in the UK, has successfully agreed four land deals in the last quarter.
The new sites will see the delivery of 198 homes across the Midlands, South and East Anglia, with completions expected throughout 2022 and 2023. The developments will be a mixture of open market sale, social rent and shared ownership.
Commenting on the deals, Group Director of Orbit Homes, Helen Moore, said: “These land deals show our commitment to delivering more affordable new homes and our ambition to provide properties in desirable locations. The need for affordable housing is a critical issue in England, especially with the financial hardship the COVID-19 pandemic has created for many, and we will be continuing to invest in new developments to help meet the growing demand and support our mission to build thriving communities.”
Land has been secured for homes to be built in Banbury and Enstone in the Midlands which will include 29 and 49 properties respectively, while Elmswell in East Anglia will include 65 properties and Ramsgate in the South with 55.
Orbit Homes builds a variety of homes and tenures, with developments ranging from small schemes in rural villages, through to large urban regeneration projects.
