The Mayor of Bexley joined local residents for an afternoon full of fun, games and activities hosted by local not-for-profit housing provider, Orbit.
Families enjoyed a host of free activities including a bouncy castle, face painting, making bug hotels, fun games and refreshments organised and funded by Orbit, with support from Wates construction and Southern Land Services (SLS).
The Mayor of Bexley, Councillor Sue Gower MBE JP said: “It was lovely to meet lots of local families and to join in the fun. Events like these are a great way to bring the community together.”
As well as meeting the Mayor and enjoying the activities, families had the opportunity to find out more about the advice and support available through Orbit’s Better Days programme which offers a range of free services to every customer designed to support financial and digital inclusion, mental wellbeing, employment and skills.
Also in attendance was Daniel Francis MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, and local councillors, Councillor Stefano Borella (Slade Green and North End) and Councillor Anna Day (London Borough of Bexley).
Jack Packman, Regional Place Manager for Orbit added: “We want to create inclusive communities where everyone can thrive. We organised this event to bring together customers living in the local area for a day of family fun where people could meet their neighbours, enjoy the activities and find out more about the free ways we can support their wellbeing through our Better Days service. Huge thanks to the Mayor and our partners at Wates and SLS for their support in making this a fantastic event.”
